LILESVILLE – Mrs. Carolyn Dean Ingram, 71, died Sunday, October 13, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Teddy Lawson, officiating. Interment will follow in Lilesville Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Carolyn was born March 19, 1948 in Anson County, NC, a daughter of the late Gilbert Chester Dean and the late Mary Virginia Bowman Dean. She was a 1966 graduate of Anson High School and worked for 25 years with B.V. Hedrick in Lilesville as weigh master.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, sewing and caring for her dogs and cats. She and her husband, Nelson were Civil War enthusiasts and traveled extensively, participating in historic reenactments. Family history and genealogy were also among her favorite past times.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lori Ingram of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Kate, John and Sam Ingram all of Wadesboro; her brothers, Charles Dean of Charleston, SC and Ken Dean of Lilesville; and her brother –in-law, Don Bowers.
Also surviving are her Ingram sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Mike Turner of Ansonville, Amanda Ingram of Lilesville, Patricia and Gene Wall of Raleigh, Rita Tyson of Rocky Mount and Jimmy Ingram of Cheraw, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Nelson Ingram; her sister and brothers, Betty Jean Bowers, James Dean, Gilbert Dean and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Dorothy Ingram.
