             LILESVILLE – Mr. James Thomas Hough, 80, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. 

            Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Lilesville Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Lawson and Rev. Ricky Marsh officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. 

            The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, August 20, 2018 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. 

            James was born November 10, 1937 in Anson County, NC a son of the late E.D. Hough and the late Allie Ricketts Hough. He worked for more than 30 years with B.V. Hedrick in Lilesville prior to his retirement. 

            He was a faithful member of Lilesville Baptist Church and he dearly loved his church family. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed time spent on his farm, gardening and taking care of his animals. One of his favorite past times was going on fishing trips with his good friend, Hugh Barber.

            Surviving are his children, Pam Hough Stegall, Mark (Donna) Lawhon and Michael (Audrey) Lawhon all of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Kristin (Nicholas) Lewis, Elizabeth (AJ) Brown, Dustin Lawhon, Ruby Lu Lawhon, Russell Hough, Wendy (Kevin) Burr, Laura Lawhon and Michael Lawhon; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Lewis, James Lewis, Alexis Brown, Valerie Brown, Abigail Underwood and Noah Underwood; his brother, John (Martha) Hough of Polkton; his beloved dog, Princess and his good friend, Esta Ratliff of Wadesboro. 

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Peggy Thompson Hough and Shirley Price Hough; his sons, Bobby Joe Hough and Mitchell Lawhon and his sister and brothers, Alice Plowman, Edward Hough and Roy Lee Hough. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lilesville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 305, Lilesville, NC 28091.
