MORVEN - On Thursday, January 7, 2021, Mr. JD Tucker, 74, passed away at his home.
Services, with military honors will be 3:00pm Friday, January 15, 2021 by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Perko officiating.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and sign the register on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 4:00pmuntil 6:00 pm and again on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The family will not be present.
Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.
JD was born March 16, 1946 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late John A. Tucker and the late Janie Miles Tucker. He retired from Coffing Hoists in Wadesboro with more than 30 years of service.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Kevin Tucker and wife, Beverly of Morven and Jeff Harris and wife, Wanda of Peachland; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his former wife, Edna Tucker of Wadesboro; his brothers, Duncan Tucker of Jacksonville, FL, Mac Tucker and wife, Pat of Ruby, SC, Frank Tucker and wife, Donna of the Burnsville Community and Stevie Phillips of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Russel Harris and his brothers, Robert Ray Tucker, Ike Tucker and Eddie B. Tucker.
JD dearly loved his family and his community. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the store at Cason Old Field. He was blessed with many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anson County Veterans Council, Inc., PO Box 791, Wadesboro, NC 28170 for their local veteran projects.
