POLKTON - Alice Elizabeth Broadaway Baucom, 91, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Alice was born October 22, 1929 in Anson County, NC and was the fourth born child of the late Eardy Ray Broadaway and the late Ressie Adeline Parker Broadaway. She was a graduate of Burnsville High School and was retired from B.C. Moore and Son's Department Stores Administrative office. A woman of great faith and trust in God, she was a faithful member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, where she played the piano and organ most of her life. She was a faithful and devoted wife of 41 years to her husband, Roy Alvin Baucom who passed away September 3, 1990. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed working in her yard growing flowers and mowing her yard. She is survived by her sisters and brother, Nell Kendall of Norwood, Ruby Pope (William) of Wadesboro, Lamar Broadaway (Janice) of Stanfield and Nancy Huneycutt (Roy) of Locust; her brother-in-law, Rodgers Baucom (Frances) of Wadesboro; a very special niece, Trudy Turner (Tommy) of Polkton; and a large number of nieces and nephews and their families from both the Broadaway and Baucom families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Polly Broadaway Baucom Efird, Harvey, Bynum, Dwight and Ross Broadaway. Services will be 11:00am Wednesday, April 7, 2021 by the graveside in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Hill officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign a register at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 4178 Rocky Mt. Church Rd., Polkton, NC 28170. Alice was a sweet lady - She worked very hard in her yard, cutting her own wood and loved the piano and the organ. She will be missed very much. Love, hugs and prayers for the family.
