WADESBORO - Mr. Alvin Kenneth “Aaron” Smith was born on December 14, 1963, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Martha Smith and the late Frank Kirby. He transitioned from his earthly life on Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home in Wadesboro, NC.

Aaron was a 1982 graduate of Bowman High School and had worked at Southern Fabricators in Polkton.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved music and washing and detailing his vehicles. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Kathy Burch Wall Smith; his children, Amanda Stewart of Charlotte, NC, Breanna Garris and Landus Garris, both of Wingate, NC; his step-children, Christopher Wall, Matthew Wall and Marcus Wall, all of Wadesboro, NC; his brothers, George W. (Donnie) Smith and Paul (Amy) Smith both of Wadesboro, NC; his sisters, Vanie (Apostle Hayward) Holmes of Chesterfield, SC, Gloria (Pastor Kevin) Gibson of Monroe, NC and Paulette Smith of Apex, NC; his aunts, Margaret Mormon of Wadesboro, NC and Arlene Smith of Charlotte, NC; his sisters-in-law, Dora Mungo and Letitia Smith; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Burch, Michael (Pebrina) Burch, and Morris Burch; his nieces and nephews, Karen Lowery, Dr. Jennifer Smith, Camilla Smith, Akia Pratt, Amber Smith, Porsha Smith, Richard K. Smith, Robert (Vadia) Smith, Brandon (Sasha) Smith, Kevin Ashley) Gibson, Roshad (Anyi) Gibson, Jarion Pratt and Paul Smith, Jr.; and a host of great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard E. Smith; his sister Betty Jean Smith; his nephew, Terry J. Smith; his great-nephew, Jamal Smith; and his uncles and aunts, Jimmy Smith, Willie Smith, Jesse Smith, Thedo Smith, John Kirby, James Kirby, Lee Kirby, Mable Henry, Viola Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Mattie Liles, Evelyn Smith and Curlean Lilly. 

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2026 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.

The public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the funeral home.

The family is gathering at the home of his brother, William Smith at 502 Astor St., Wadesboro.
