Barney Gene Jacobs

ROCKINGHAM - On Monday, February 13, 2023, Mr. Barney Gene Jacobs, 71, passed away peacefully at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Leavitt Funeral Home.

Barney was born October 13, 1951, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of the late Ben Wesley Jacobs and the late Barbara Ellen Coward Jacobs. He was a truck driver, having worked with Eddie Carpenter Logging for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lynn Benton of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Dallas Parrisher of Lumberton, Gracie Parrisher of Rockingham, Zackary Polston of Bennettsville, SC, and Ashley Polston of Rockingham; his great-grandchildren, Camron Parrisher, Kenslee Cole and Braylie Polston and his nieces and nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leavitt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170 to assist with funeral expenses.
