Barry Lee Peguese

LILESVILLE - Barry Lee Peguese was born on July 15^th, 1960, in Anson County. He peacefully departed this life at his residence, surrounded by family and friends, on March 29^th, 2024, in Lilesville, North Carolina. 

Barry attended Bowman High School. He began his career in logging with Mike Goodwin’s Logging Co. He then worked with Eddie Carpenter Logging & Trucking Co. He ended his career working with Ben Smith & Son. 

He proceeded in death by his mother Betty Louise Peguese of Anson County, North Carolina; his brother, Willie Peguese of Lilesville, North Carolina and his nephew, Dwayne Peguese Smith of Lilesville, North Carolina. 

He leaves to cherish his fond memories to his wife, Renea Williams Peguese of Norwood, North Carolina; his sister, Mary Peguese Smith (Lee) of Lilesville, North Carolina; 3 brothers, Tony Peguese and John Peguese, both of Lilesville, North Carolina; Robert Peguese (Claudia) of Monroe, North Carolina;   4 daughters, Latasha Watts and Shakeeka Watts Brooks (Dwayne), both of Charlotte, North Carolina (Mother- Phyllis Watts Peguese); Soraya Peguese and Sa’naiya Peguese, both of Lilesville, North Carolina (Mother-Tonya Gainey); 2 step-daughters, Meagan Price and Chelsey Williams, both of New London, North Carolina; 3 step-sons, Arien Watts (Mandy) of Marshville, North Carolina, Brian Keith Williams Jr. and  Antonio Williams, both of New London, North Carolina; a father figure to Xauvier Gainey of Lilesville, North Carolina, two grandchildren: Shakira Marsh and Kali Brooks, 5 step-grandchildren: Kamden Williams, Aliana Williams, Paris Wright, Gage Williams, Daylan Williams and a host of close nieces, nephews, relatives, and many life-long friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.

Public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the funeral home and at other times the home of his sister.
