WADESBORO - On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Mrs. Betty Hough Hardison, 91, passed away peacefully at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Betty was born June 1, 1934, in Anson County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Jasper Harmon "Red" Hough and the late Mary Braswell Hough. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Selene Hardison of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, William Hardison, Jr. of Wadesboro and Marissa Thomas (Michael) of Polkton; her great-grandchildren, Waylen Hardison, Noah Ratliff, Christian Ratliff, Summer Hardison, Karson Thomas, and Margeau Thomas; and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howze McLendon "Mac" Hardison, her sons, infant Fredrick Hardison, William "Bill" Hardison, and Robert Braswell "Bob" Hardison, her granddaughter, Lauren Hardison and her sister, Lena Gregory.
Betty was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting Christmas parties for her family; she was a crafter and seamstress, too. She and Mac enjoyed traveling and would go on bus tours twice a year, having visited 48 states and Canada. Trips to the beach were also a highlight for her. She was an avid bird watcher and could name the birds that came to visit her flowers and feeders.
The family plans to have a private graveside service at Eastview Cemetery following the holidays.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastview Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 8170.
The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
