Betty Braswell Lear

WADESBORO – Mrs. Betty Braswell Lear, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 6, 2020 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Rev. Randy Storz and Rev. Donald Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday and other times at the home. Betty was born June 3, 1933 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Floyd William Braswell and the late Janie Elizabeth Miles Braswell. She had worked in textiles for a number of years and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Diane Lear of Wadesboro and Leroy Lear, Jr. of Lilesville; her daughter of the heart, Angie Martin Lear of Lilesville; her grandson of the heart, Zachary Hanna (Mallory) of Peachland; great-grandchildren of the heart, Daniel and Allison; her brother, Larry Braswell (Betty) of Indian Trail and her sister-in-law, Lib Lear of Wadesboro, as well as, her nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Thomas Lear and by her brothers, Floyd “Bub” Braswell, James “Pete” Braswell and Kenneth “Kenny” Braswell. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Richmond County Hospice and Anson Community Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Betty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County and Anson Community Hospice, 1119 US-1, Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3373 Country Club Rd, Wadesboro, NC 28170. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
