Betty Barber McCracken

WADESBORO - On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Mrs. Betty Barber McCracken, 91, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Pineville.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. 

A graveside service will follow the visitation at Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Mims officiating.

Betty was born in Anson County, NC, on March 29, 1934, and was a daughter of the late Hugh Warren Barber and the late Mary Frances Thompson Barber. 

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her son, Hugh McCracken of Marshville; her brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Jennifer Barber of Lilesville; and her nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo "Jack"  McCracken; her daughter, Cindy Hildreth; and her brother, Son Barber.
