           WADESBORO – On Saturday, May 6, 2023, Mrs. Bonnie Randle Gay, 66, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and nurse, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

There will be a memorial service at 3:00 PM Wednesday, 10, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Karl Randall officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

 

            Bonnie was born July 5, 1956, in Anson County, NC, and was a daughter of the late William Alfred Randle, Sr., and the late Annie Lee Caskey Randle Freeman. She was a 1974 graduate of Bowman High School and a 1975 graduate of Sandhills Community College Nursing Program.

 

            A successful nursing career of nearly 47 years most of which was spent in her home of Anson County. She worked for a few years at Mission Hospital in Asheville in pediatrics when she and her husband lived in Asheville.

 

            She worked in the Emergency Room at Anson County Hospital and from there she worked in skilled nursing. First, she worked at Anson County Hospital on Second Skilled Nursing, then at Lillie Bennett Nursing Home, and Heritage Hills Nursing Home, ultimately retiring from Wadesboro Health and Rehab. Many lives have been made better by Bonnie’s nursing skills. She not only cared for her patients, but she also cared for their families. She possessed a heart for others and nursing truly was her calling.

 

            She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 46 years, Calvin S. Gay, Jr.; her daughter, Jessica Lee Gay of the home; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Sylvia Randle of Albemarle and Terry and Jenny Randle of Anderson, SC; her nieces and nephews, Missy Price and husband, Lynn of Monroe, Morgan Gurley of Charlotte, Holly Spiars (Stephen) of Anderson, SC and Nick Randle (Kathryn) of Chambersburg, PA and their families; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warry and Wendy Gay of Manassas, VA, and family.

 

            Bonnie will long be remembered for her beautiful and caring spirit. May her memory be eternal, and her reunion be with not only her family but with the patients she cared for throughout the years.

 

            Bonnie’s family is grateful for all the acts of love and kindness shown during her battle with cancer.

 

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to her daughter for her future needs, Jessica Lee Gay, c/o, Calvin Gay, 1907 Morven Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
