LILESVILLE - On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Mrs. Brenda Usrey Pegram, 75, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family .

There will be a memorial service at 4:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2026 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forestville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Brenda was born December 4, 1950 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Harold Clay "Sonny" Usrey and the late Mary Geraldine Lee Usrey. She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and attended Cathedral Baptist Church.

For more than 30 years, Brenda owned and operated a daycare in her home and later she and her husband were partners in Milton and Brenda's Christmas Trees. She and Milton enjoyed seeing so many of their friends during the days before Christmas when they would come to choose the perfect tree and handmade wreath for their homes. They had customers who would travel great distances for just the perfect tree every year.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Todd Pegram of Lilesville and Michelle Dennis (Matt) of Norwood; her grandchildren, Ashley Steagall (Wes) of Polkton, Natalie Helms of Wingate and Lee Ann Dennis of Norwood; her great-grandchildren, Summer Davis, Weston Steagall, Evie Stegall and Catie Steagall; her sister, Patty "Kitty" Montgomery (Ed) of Independence, MO; her brother-in-law, Jeff Pegram (joanna) of Lake Wylie, SC; her sister-in-law, Jeanne Zentmeyer (Larry) of Kannapolis and her nieces and nephews and their families from both the Usrey and Pegram families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Walter Milton Pegram, Jr; and by her brothers and sister, Ronnie Usrey, Tommy "Rock" Usrey and Mary Lynn Usrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cathedral Baptist Church, 1215 Old Lilesville Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to Forestville Untied Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o, Joanne Clark, 1781 Clark Mtn. Rd., Lilesville, NC 28091.
