Mrs. Carolyn Webb Woodburn Rayfield, 85, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home. Carolyn was born September 11, 1926 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Minnie Lee Webb Woodburn. She had worked for more than 20 years with First National Bank of Wadesboro and later retired from Anson County Department of Social Services. She was a lifelong member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Forris Barnhill of Ivanhoe, NC; her grandchildren, Paul Blanchard and wife, Suzanne of Wilmington and Carla Cotten and husband, James of Burgaw; her great-grandchildren, Shelby and Gabe Blanchard and Justin and Jonathan Cotten; her brother, Lyndon Woodburn and wife, Virginia Ruth of Morven; her sisters-in-law, Imogene Napier and husband, Henry of Chesapeake, VA and Frances Boggs of Charlotte; and her loving and devoted friend and caregiver, Larzetta Ross of Morven and long-time friend, Sylvester Lowery of Wadesboro, who worked with Mr. and Mrs. Rayfield for more than 30 years. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar 'Billy' Rayfield and by her brother Edmond Woodburn. Memorials may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church, 1280 Beck Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
