Daniel "Danny" Martin Bowers, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Martin Bowers Sr., who left us on September 8, 2024, at the age of 70. Danny, affectionately known to everyone as "Danny" or simply “the tire man,” passed away peacefully in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by his loving family.

Danny was born on February 20, 1954, in Wadesboro, NC, to Jackie and Julia Bowers. He grew up alongside his siblings, Sherrill and Reggie, learning the values of hard work, dedication, and community service from an early age. These values remained with him throughout his life, guiding him in his many endeavors and shaping the incredible man he became.

A devoted husband, Danny married the love of his life, Robyn Moore Bowers, on December 8, 1972, in their hometown of Wadesboro. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning over 52 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life in Polkton, NC, raising two children, Marty Bowers of Phoenix, AZ, and Jaclyn Lammers (Neil) of Charlotte, NC. Danny's beloved granddaughter, Olivia Belle Lammers, was the light of his life and he cherished every moment spent with her.

Professionally, Danny was a dedicated employee at Southern Fabricators and later became the proud owner of Moore’s Garage. His work ethic and integrity left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with, earning him respect and admiration from the community and customers alike.

Danny was not only a hard worker but also an active and cherished member of his community. His infectious laugh and warm personality brought joy to all who knew him. He was deeply involved in the Burnsville Fire and Rescue Department, always ready to lend a hand and serve his community in times of need. His commitment to his faith was unwavering, and he was a dedicated member of Hopewell Methodist Church, where his presence will be sorely missed.

In his free time, Danny found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting and fishing—activities that allowed him to connect with nature and bond with his friends and family. Above all, he treasured spending time with his granddaughter Olivia, creating memories that will be held dear by his family forever.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Julia Bowers, and his brother, Reggie Bowers. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Robyn Bowers of Polkton, NC; his children, Marty Bowers and Jaclyn Lammers (Neil); his brother, Sherrill Bowers of Polkton, NC; his granddaughter, Olivia Belle Lammers; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Darrell and Sharon Edwards, and Ceal Bowers all of Polkton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.

The family will greet friends on September 12, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Hopewell Methodist Church with the funeral at 4 PM to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hopewell Methodist Church, 1715 Hopewell Church Road Peachland NC 28133 and the Anson County Animal Shelter, 7257 Old US Hwy 74 Polkton NC 28135, two causes that Danny held close to his heart.

Danny was a man of great character, whose legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He was loved by so many and will be remembered as a devoted family man, a dedicated community member, and a friend to all. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
