Dawn Lewis Bond, of Boaz, Alabama, lost her eight-year battle with cancer on September 14, 2023, under the care of Shepherd's Cove Hospice Care.

Dawn was born on February 12, 1971, in Jackson, Mississippi, to David and Beth Lewis. Dawn was married to Donald Bond for twenty-six years, and they had one daughter, Lydia Denise Bond, who was the light of Dawn's life.

Dawn was a graduate of Temple Christian Academy, in Lewisville, Texas, and received her bachelor's degree from Pensacola Christian College. She was an amazing teacher for many years in Mississippi, Arkansas, and North Carolina. She is loved and remembered by so many former students.

Dawn is preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Gregory Shane Lewis. She is survived by the following: her husband, Donald Keith Bond; her daughter, Lydia Denise Bond; her parents, Dr. David and Beth Lewis; her sister, Denise Ratje (Dan); her brother, Dr. Daniel Stevens (Summer); her loving in-laws, Reed and Denise Bond and Karen Rainey (James); her beloved Uncle and Aunt Linda Shirley (James); and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on at 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, at Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church with Daniel Stevens and Mark Perko officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, before the service.

Dawn knew her Lord and Savior, and knew that Heaven was her final destination.

Thanks to the many friends and service caregivers that have supported her through her long journey.

Perry Funeral Home in Centre, Alabama, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Dawns memory to Shepherds Cove Hospice in Albertville AL, or Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church Outreach Center.
