POLKTON - Ms. Debra Preslar Williams, 55, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 21, 2012 while a resident of Autumn Care of Marshville. There will be a memorial service1:00pm Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro with Rev. Mike Oney officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Debbie was born June 17, 1956 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late William Furman Preslar and Lucy Mae Treadaway Preslar. Prior to her declining health, she was a nurse and through her nursing she exemplified her love in caring for the elderly. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Amy Williams of Peachland; her grandson Nate, who she shared a nightly conversation with telling him, 'MeMe loves you more than the stars in the sky'. Also surviving are her sisters, Juanita Preslar Tidwell of Polkton, Judy Preslar Taylor of Peachland and Carolyn Preslar Baker of Monroe; her niece, Sharon Walker, who she considered as her sister and an adopted sister, Louise Grindstaff of Mint Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maggie Preslar Carpenter and Frances Preslar Tucker and by her loving companion, Steve Rackley, whose daughters, Sharon (Les) Howell of Marshville and Stevie Lang of Polkton and their children, Amanda, Josh, Matthew, Brittany, Bradyen and Melanie and his sister, Louise Bailes of Albemarle, who also survive her. Betty Preslar Williams of Peachland, her special cousin, was faithful to Debbie and her family by always being there ready to lend a helping hand, and the family will always be grateful to her. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Autumn Care of Marshville, especially the nursing, dietary and housekeeping staffs as they exemplified a high level of care and compassion for Debbie while she was a resident there. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Worship Center, P.O. Box 706, Marshville, NC 28103 or to Autumn Care, P.O. Box 608, Marshville, NC 28103 or to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 East 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
