Leonard was born December 13, 1933 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Dewey Daniel Ward and the late Henribelle Talent Ward. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and going to flea markets. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch swing and anything to do with genealogy. He had a generous and caring heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was an excellent cook and was well-known for making chicken and dumplings. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Kilwinning Masonic Lodge , P.O. Box 298, Wadesboro, NC 28170 for the Masonic Home for Children.
