Dillon Smith Griffin

            MONROE – On Thursday, December 28, 2023, Mr. Dillon Smith Griffin, 80, passed away peacefully at his home.

            There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Monroe. The family will greet friends following the service.

            Dillon was born March 16, 1943 in Union County, NC and was a son of the late John Floyd Griffin and the late Ruth McManus Griffin.

            He was employed with Charlotte Pipe and Plastics for 23 years as supervisor and later owned and operated Dillon Griffin Trucking.

            Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joann Hildreth Griffin; his children, Jeffrey (Tammy) Phillips of Rock Hill, SC, tony Phillips of Marshville and Randy Phillips of Indian Trail; his grandson, Benjamin Phillips who was very special to him; his brothers and sister, Robert “Pete” Griffin, Carroll Wayne (JoAnn) Griffin and Mary Massey and his nieces and nephews and their families.

            Dillon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
