LILESVILLE - Donald Edward Tice, 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donald was born on October 25, 1956, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of the late Billy Tice and the late Willie Faye Moore Tice. He was a graduate of Bowman High School and had worked with W.R. Bonsal in Wadesboro.
He was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting, fishing, and could fix just about anything with his hands. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, giving freely of his time, his skills, and his heart. Above all else, he cherished his family.
His greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, Liliana Martini, lovingly known as his “Sunshine,” and Joseph Polson, his “Catfish.” The love he had for them was unmistakable and a true gift to witness.
Donald was a man of faith, and his family finds comfort and peace knowing that he was saved and is now in Heaven. He is reunited with his parents, Billy and Willie Faye Tice; his brother, Jerry Tice; and his nephew, Russell Hough, who was like a son to him. What a joyful reunion that must have been.
Donald is survived by his children, Holly Martini (Anthony) and Jennifer Polson; his sister, Ellen Goodwin (Lonnie); and his cherished grandchildren, Liliana Martini and Joseph Polson.
He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. Though words cannot fully express the loss, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories that will be carried forever.
Plants and flowers are welcome, but for those who wish to send a memorial, please consider Gentiva Hospice, 1198 Rockingham Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379.
