CHERAW, SC - Donnie “JR” Levern Ford, Jr., beloved son of Thelma Cash Ford and the late Donald L. Ford, Sr., was born on February 26, 1988, in Chesterfield County, SC. He departed this life on Sunday May 4, 2025, in Union County, NC.
JR brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered. His contagious smile and unforgettable laugh lit up every room he entered. He was known not only for his kind heart but also for his relentless work ethic and his ability to master just about anything he set his mind to.
A proud product of the Cheraw ~ Chesterfield area, JR attended Chesterfield County Schools and graduated from Chesterfield High School in 2006. Following graduation, he pursued his passion for mechanics at an automotive school in Florida. Upon returning home, JR put his skills to work and quickly became a go-to for car repairs, gaining the trust and respect of friends, neighbors and community members.
A true jack of all trades, JR’s talents extended far beyond auto repair. He was the founder and operator of a successful lawn care business, known for his attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction. Whether it was fixing engines, cutting grass, or helping a neighbor in need, JR did it all with pride and precision.
In addition to his hands-on skills, JR was a hardworking truck driver, hauling freight both locally and long distance. No matter where the road took him, he carried his strong sense of responsibility, love for family and unmatched determination with him.
JR was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Ford, Sr., and his grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother, Thelma Cash ford’ his precision daughter, Zy’an and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who forever feel the absences of his bright spirit.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the legacy of Donnie “JR” Levern Ford~ is laughter, his heart, his hustle will live on in every life he touched.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 9, 2025 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Montrose Cemetery in Cheraw, SC.
Public viewing will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the funeral home.
The family is gathering at the home on Briar Road in Cheraw, SC.
