POLKTON - On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Mr. Donnie Ray "Rudy" Howard, 69, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Pineville with his family at his bedside.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.

Services will be private by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park.

Rudy was born July 1 1956 in Montgomery County, NC and was a son of the late James Wesley Howard and the late Virginia Mae Brigman Howard.

He worked for many years as a foreman in commercial piping having worked with Davis Mechanical and with Buck Meek's Piping. He also worked at the Marathon Store in Polkton.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jamie Howard of Norwood and his son, Shane Hicks of Darlington, SC.

Rudy enjoyed fishing, watching westerns on television, mowing grass and making sure the leaves were up out of the yard. He was a devoted father to his little girl, Jamie. He always looked forward to spending time with her, cooking the best scrambled eggs for her breakfast and talking to her all the time on the telephone. He was also a devoted son and brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Ronnie "Goober" Howard and David Richard Howard.
