Johnnie, Glenda, and Caroline......I was so sad when I looked at the obituaries and saw Ms. Doris sitting there just like I always remembered her. I always try to remember something comical about someone especially when we had all lived in Burnsville for so long. I saw her at Sam's Club one Saturday and she had bought some waffle looking things and she stopped me and insisted I go pick up some. She said "they are so wonderful you'll wonder where they had been all this time". I went back and got 2 bags. I took them home and quickly realized I should have gotten more. Doris had a way of telling you about something and making it taste good before you opened the package. I wonder if they still make those. I can still remember that flavor. I wish I had called her to thank her but I'll see her again. You girls and guys hold on tight to each other because you never know when all your family is gone. I never thought about being the only one left in my family, but I guess you can be an orphan at any age. Hold on to the taste of those coconut cakes. I sure hope somebody was paying attention when she was cooking. I love you all and pray you will celebrate Doris instead of mourning the way I have done for the last several years.
