Douglas Mr. Singletary

Mr. Douglas Singletary Jr., 69, died Monday, December 31, 2012, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Funeral services will be 4:00PM Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3:00PM. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park Cemetery. Douglas was born in Anson County on January 9, 1943, a son of the late Douglas and Kate Dawkins Singletary Sr. He had worked as a mechanic and a construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Singletary; a son, Douglas 'Tinker' Singletary III (Cindy) of Wadesboro; two daughters, Gloria (John) Williams of Monroe and Marlena Granger of Wadesboro; and a granddaughter, Malisa Hammond. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Donnie Stubbs of Norfolk, VA, Bill Dawkins, Jeannie Carter and Vicky Singletary all of Wadesboro.
