Lilesvile - Edwin Lafred-Deqahn Rivers “Buddy”, the son of Yolanda Jenkins Kirkley and William Frank Kirkley was born December 9, 1992 in Scotland County, NC. He departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Scotland Regional Hospice at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC.
Edwin attended Anson County public schools and was a student in Mrs. Covington’s class for special needs children. He graduated from Anson High School in 2012.
He brought joy to everyone he came in contact with. Edwin attended Harris Chapel AME Zion Church in Morven where he was a faithful member. He loved to sing and praise God.
Edwin will be remembered as a loving son, brother, and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Yolanda Kirkley of Lilesville; his father, William F. Kirkley of Morven; his sisters, Dreamer Kirkley and MaKayla Kirkley both of Lilesville; his grandmother, Lorene Bears of McFarlan; his grandfather, Burnice Douglas of McFarlan; his uncles, Tony Jenkins of Pageland, SC, Fredrick Jenkins of McFarlan and Clarence Jenkins of Moore County; two special cousins, Yasmine Marshall Coble and Yaniya Marshall; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Galilee AME Zion Church Cemetery in McFarlan.
Public viewing from 9:00am until 12:00pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.
The family is at the home 137 Strawberry Lane in Lilesville and they respectfully request social distancing and wearing of face masks when visiting.
