WADESBORO - Effie Williams-Henry, 69, of Wadesboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on August 18th, 2025.
Born on January 6th, 1956 in Lilesville, North Carolina, she was born to the late Effie Nell Williams and Bo McDonald. Effie, known to others as Elaine, was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated worker for Tyson Foods in Monroe, North Carolina, and McDonalds in Wadesboro, North Carolina for many years. She retired due to health issues. During her time, she was a dedicated and beloved Usher at Greater St. Mark Church of Deliverance in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Before her departure, she received and completed her Baptism Renewal on July 27th, 2025.
She leaves behind a brother, Randy Williams, along with her six children—Edward Hicks, Timothy Williams, Jacqueline Williams, Charles Rue, Shanika Rue, and Shakima Rue, as well as one nephew—Damion Williams. She also leaves behind her grandchildren—Shawnice Teal, Tasheema Wright, Amir Hicks, Gwyndolyn Swinton, Krystlyn LeGrande, Quontayzia Williams, Marquaves Ratliff, Mi’Joyce Hicks, Darius Rowland, Timaazia Williams, Mekhi Felder, Nicole Felder, Dequarius Ratliff, Zakyah Rue, Brooklyn Rue, Alana Mitchell, and Shamira Ross; and her great-grandchildren—O’Ryan LeGrande, Angel White, Jac’Quell Wright, Jaiyana White, and Ky’eire Felder, and a host of family and friends. Preceding her in death was her aunts Mary Black, Leona and Pearline Williams, Dolly Rivers, and her uncle, Sylvester Williams. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to Richmond County Hospice team, the family she made during her lifetime at Greater St. Mark Church of Deliverance, Sheriff Scott Howell, and the friends she made during her tenure at Wadesboro’s McDonalds.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Greater St. Mark Church of Deliverance in Wadesboro.
Visitation and viewing will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
The family is gathering at the home on Lodge Street in Wadesoro.
