Fannie Mae Oliver Griffin

WADESBORO - On Wednesday, Mrs. Fannie Mae Oliver Griffin, 96, passed away peacefully at Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living in Wadesboro to be with her Lord and Savior.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Daryl Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Fannie was born on November 28, 1929, in Anson County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Ellis Oliver and the late Mollie Morton Oliver. She had worked with West Knitting Mills in Wadesboro. She was a long-time member of Wadesboro Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, James Griffin, Jr. (Carolyn) of Monre, Gary Griffin of Colorado, Kathy Winfree (Louis) of Wadesboro, and Julia Freeman (David) of Supply; her grandchildren, Stephanie McGrady, Tonya Griffin, Logan Griffin, Jennifer Tarlton (Zac) and Shelly Vetter (Mike); her great-grandchildren, Brittany McGrady, Josh McGrady, Mason Tarlton, Julianna Vetter, Owen Vetter, and Cassidy Vetter; her great-great-granddaughter, Kinsley McGrady; her brother and sister, Lester Oliver of Albemarle and Sarah Polston of Laurinburg and her nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben James Griffin, and by her brother and sisters, Aaron Oliver, Arlene Lisk, Agnes Sessions, Eunice Burr, Esther Blalock, and Rosa Gilmore.
