Wadesboro- On Saturday May 17, 2025, Mr. Frank Wayne Pace, 61, United States Navy Retired, passed away at Atrium Health Anson in Wadesboro.

Services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Marsh officiating with military honors.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Wayne was born November 24, 1963, in Greenville County, SC, the son of Josephine Murdock Pace and the late John Frank Pace. He retired from the United States Navy and worked as a truck driver with Southern States Farm Supply in Marshville after his service with the Navy. 

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Amy Michelle Miller Pace of the home; his children, Melinda Collins (Jason) of Greensboro, Elizabeth Shumate (Darren) of North Wilkesboro, Virginia Potts (Martin) of Portsmouth, OH, Kimberly Hatley (Kevin) of Hemby Bridge, Rebeckah Beresford (Alexander) of Charlotte and Jacob Pace of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Hartley Collins, Rowen Potts, Rachel Hatley, Piper Potts and Aiden Beresford.

Also surviving are his mother, Josephine “Jo” Hudson Murdock of Wadesboro; his sister and brother, Wanda Pace Ward (Nolan) of Peachland and John Pace of Peachland; his step-brother, Thomas Wayne Murdock; his nieces and nephews, Kaylan Randall (Jared) of Poklton, Taylor Thompson (Tyler) of Oakboro, Trent Ward (Haley) of Peachland, McKensie Pace and Hunter Pace both of Peachland; his great-niece, Charlotte Randall.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph S. Murdock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or the local animal shelter.
