Gary Wayne Butler

Concord – Mr. Gary Wayne Butler, age 77, died Monday, March 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord. A graveside service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at 2:00PM Thursday at Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. A native of Anson County, Wayne was born April 16, 1943. He was a son of the late Neal and Lona Helen Maree Butler. He was a retired tire technician who enjoyed being outdoors as much as anywhere. Survivors include his daughter, Rennie Butler of Blacksburg, SC; a brother, Hal Maree (Chris) of Rockingham; two sisters, Judy Smith of Rockingham and Ruth Steele (Virgil) of Wadesboro; and two special neighborly friends, Lois Spragley and Tina Forsythe both of Concord. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters, Betty Williams, Richard Butler, Linda Butler and Johnny Butler.
