LILESVILLE – On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Mrs. Gaye Garrett Clark, 65, passed away peacefully at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill with her husband at her side.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Forestville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sigrid Mottram officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Gaye was born October 1, 1959, in Kingstree, SC and was a daughter of the late William Russell Garrett and the late Gloria Myrtle Gillespie Garrett. She was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School and earned an associate’s degree in business administration and an associate’s degree in accounting from Richmond Community College. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Gardner Webb, graduating Cum Laude.

She worked for 30 years with Sara Lee Hosiery in Rockingham, later working with Child Development Agency of the Sandhills and retiring as Human Resources Director for Richmond Community College.

Gaye was active in Forestville United Methodist Church, serving the church as treasurer and supporting the other ministries of the church. She was recently baptized while in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital by her pastor.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Alan Clark; her sister, Vanessa Garrett of Rockingham; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Janet Clark of Lilesville and Ida Clark of Myrtle Beach, SC; her nieces and nephews, Renee Greene of Rockingham; Kimberly Sanders (Clay) of Lancaster, SC, Logan Clark (Kurstin) of Lilesville, Lucas Clark (Maikaila) of Wadesboro, and Cody Clark (Melissa) of Myrtle Beach, SC her great-nieces and great-nephew, Chassity Mixon, Leilani Clark, Liam Clark and Everly Clark; and her great-great-niece, Kaleah Brigman of Hamlet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Loretta Clark and by her brother-in-law, Marvin Clark, Jr.

Gaye will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband and family. She had a great appreciation for the out doors and loved spending time outside, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and trips to the beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forestville Church Cemetery, c/o, Joanne Clark, 1781 Clark Mtn. Rd., Lilesville, NC 28091.
