The obituary for Mr. Eddins is being shared as a courtesy to the Eddins family who are long-time residents of Anson County and friends of the staff of Leavitt Funeral Home. We offer our sincere condolences to the family. Harvey Linwood Eddins was 85 when he went to be with the Lord on the evening of November 16, 2020, in the Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina. Harvey was born in Anson County, NC on August 10, 1935. On August 10, 1958 he married the love of his life, Joyce Martin Eddins. He was a hard worker, entrepreneur, and family man with a heart for the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Martin Eddins, sons Randy Eddins (wife Teresa) of Burlington, NC, and Mark Eddins (wife Sandi) of Burlington, NC, as well as grandchildren Chris Eddins (fiancé Lisa) of Burlington, NC, Chelsey Eddins Blake (husband Tom) of Roanoke, VA, Kyle Eddins of Wills Point, TX, Elizabeth Eddins of Graham, NC, and Ryan Eddins of Burlington, NC. He is also survived by sisters Myrtle Eddins Wall (husband Bill) of Lilesville, NC, and Helen “Judy” Eddins Lail (husband Ralph) of Wadesboro, NC, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents, Fred Linwood Eddins and Elizabeth Rebecca Meachum Eddins, and siblings Myrtle Louise Eddins, Nellie Frances Hildreth, and Fred Marvin Eddins. Harvey was a member of Baptist Temple of Alamance County where he served for many years. He was Staff Sergeant of the U.S. Army Air National Guard, owner of Harvey’s Auto Parts and Carolina Rental Investors, a member of the Beta Club and the Alamance Chamber of Commerce. However, the thing he was most passionate about was his family. A funeral service will be held On Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Baptist Temple of Alamance County - 2224 S. Anthony Rd, Burlington, NC 27215, by Dr. Donald R Carter and David M Carter (Assistant to the Pastor), at 2:00pm. (Services will adhere to current NC COVID-19 guidelines and a live stream of the funeral will be available via the following link: https://www.facebook.com/findingfaithinjesus.org/). A public viewing will be held in the same location at 1:00pm. His burial will take place after the service at Historical Providence Cemetery - 819 N Main St, Graham, NC 27253. Following the services, family will receive friends at 1860 Buxton Way Burlington, NC 27215. His family asks that donations be made to the Piedmont Rescue Mission or AuthoraCare Collective Hospice in lieu of flowers.
