Life and Legacy

Hattie was born on August 18, 1944, in McFarlan, North Carolina, to the late Deacon Riston Marshall and Addie Marshall. She attended McRae High School in Morven, North Carolina. Throughout her life, she resided in several cities, including Chicago, Illinois, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before eventually making her home in New Jersey.

Hattie possessed a deep and abiding passion for nursing and caring for the sick. Her life was devoted to promoting wellness, offering counsel, encouraging others, and uplifting all whom God placed in her path. Her compassion extended far beyond her professional calling, as she faithfully cared for her family and those in need. For seven years, she lovingly cared for her mother, Addie Marshall, until her mother's passing in 1999.

Hattie firmly believed that God had placed a special calling on her life to care for others, particularly those who were ill or in need of assistance. She embraced this calling with a willing heart, a spirit of compassion, and unwavering faith.

Later in life, Hattie relocated to Wadesboro, North Carolina, where she met her beloved goddaughter, Eliza Copeland. She subsequently became a member of Church of God of Prophecy, where she faithfully served as one of the church mothers and as a missionary leader. Through her faith, service, and encouragement, she touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on her church, family, and community.
