Helen Gathings Miller

WADESBORO Mrs. Helen Gathings Miller, 83, of Greenville, NC and formerly of Wadesboro died Sunday, November 24, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Helen was born March 16, 1936 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Roy Barney Gathings and the late Fannie Mae Eddins Gathings. She was retired from Unity Knitting Mills, which is now Carolina Apparel Group in Wadesboro. Her family was very important to her and she always looked forward to family gatherings. She always enjoyed gardening, canning and feeding her birds. A true gospel music fan, she loved attending gospel music concerts and Jason Crabb and The Gaithers were among her favorite gospel music artists. Surviving are her children, Debra Miller Mansfield (Martin) of Tyner ,NCand William "Bill" L. Miller (Tina) of Rocky Mount, NC; her grandchildren, Renee Mayo (Jason) of Greenville, NC, Cheryl Miller of Sharpsburg, NC, Elizabeth Norris of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Michael Mullis (Nichole) of Las Vegas, NV and Lisa Mullis Beacham of Washington, NC; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Mayo, Adam Mayo, Austin Junge, Wyatt Mullis, Mackeon Mullis, Hayvin Mullis, Kali Norris, Candice Daniels, Brandon Daniels and Kacie Manning and her great-great-grandchild, Austin Bradshaw. Also surviving are her sisters and brother, Mary Virginia Bowers Dinkins of Winston-Salem, NC, Sara Jones of Wadesboro, NC and Merle Gathings of Yadkinville, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Miller; her son, Wallace Miller and her sisters and brothers, Emma Goodwin, Margaret Dutton, Rosa Powell, Fannie Goodwin, Sue Griffin, Ben Gathings, Lee Gathings and Barney Gathings.
