Irma Dennis Poplin

WADESBORO -  On Sunday, November 16, 2025, Mrs. Irma Dennis Poplin, 84, passed away peacefully at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.

There will be a private graveside service  Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Mims officiating.

Irma was born June 30, 1941 in Richmond County, NC and was a daughter of the late Elisha Franklin Dennis and the late Fannie Mae Howell Dennis. 

She retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections as kitchen supervisor at Brown Creek Correctional Institute in Polkton. she was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lilesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rufus Poplin and by her sons, Roy Lee Wiggins and Herbert Wayland Wiggins.

Surviving are 1 brother Butch Dennis; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and her best friend and companion, Grady Thompson.
