James Isaac “Jim” Andrews, 71, of Wadesboro, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on August 10, 1954, Jim lived a life rooted in family, hard work, faith, and the simple joys that meant the most to him.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Earnest David Andrews, Sr., and his mother, Pauline Branch Harrelson.
He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Marine Corps reflected the strength, discipline, and loyalty that defined his character throughout his life.
Jim dedicated many years of service to the Anson County Water Department before retiring. He believed in honest work and providing for his family, carrying that responsibility with honor.
A man of strong faith, Jim was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Andrews of Wadesboro, granddaughters, Kinley Andrews of Ellerbe and Alyson Andrews of Cullowhee; his son, Troy Andrews of Rockingham, his grandson, Duncan Ray Andrews of Rockingham; his daughter, Brittany Baker (Jeremy) of Norwood, his granddaughters, Easton and Ember Baker both of Norwood. His grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy.
Also surviving are his brothers, Ernest David Andrews, Jr. and Jerry Andrews both of Rockingham.
Jim had a passion for riding Harleys with his sons and friends, playing golf, fishing, and small block Chevys. He loved the open road, the sound of a well-built engine, and the time spent outdoors. More than anything, he loved his family.
A memorial service will be held at the home of Jim Andrews in the near future. The date and time will be announced to close friends and family once finalized.
He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, work ethic, and the though love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the family he built and the values he instilled.
