Mr. James William "Bill" Eddins, Jr., 81, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born in Anson County, NC, Bill was the beloved son of the late James William Eddins, Sr. and the late Mildred Ruth Eddins Eddins. He shared more than 38 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Ann Manley McAdams Eddins, whose love and companionship were a cherished blessing throughout their life together.
Bill enjoyed a successful career in the specialty foods industry, serving as a Regional Sales Manager for companies including Continental Bakery and Nabisco before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
Above all else, Bill treasured his family. Whether spending time together celebrating milestones or simply enjoying everyday moments, he found his greatest happiness in the company of those he loved. He was a caring husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a loyal friend whose kindness, quiet strength, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Bill also had a special place in his heart for animals. An avid animal lover, he especially cherished the companionship of his beloved dogs, “Beau” and “Brewster”, who brought him years of joy and unconditional love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Eddins, of the home; his son, Christopher Eddins and wife, Emily; his stepson, Keith McDaniel and wife, MaryAnn; his four grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn Eddins and Delaney and Braden McDaniel; and his brother-in-law, Ed McAdams and wife, Dawn.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill's life during a memorial gathering from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215; Burlington Animal Services at www.burlingtonnc.gov/pets; or the Alamance County Humane Society at www.hsaconline.org, organizations that reflect Bill's compassion for both people and animals.
