Johnnie Jeffery Rodgers

Wadesboro - On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, Mr. Johnnie Jeffery Rodgers, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior at Atrium Health Union after battling COVID 19.

Johnnie was born March 4, 1954, in Moore County, NC, and was a son of the late John Bunyon "JB" Rodgers and the late Myrtle Louise Deese Rodgers. He graduated from high school in Mecklenburg County and retired from Hornwood in Lilesville with more than 30 years of service.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Susanna Simpson of Robbins, Rebecca Freeman (Daniel) of Nunam Iqua, AK, Samuel Rodgers of Pinebluff, Sarah Marnell (Eddie) of Robbins and Barbara Moss of Greensboro; his sister, Lawanda Rodgers of Wadesboro; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hill Rodgers, and by his grandson, Michael Lee Freeman.

Due to the rise in the number of COVID cases, the family has chosen to have a private service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to one of Johnnie's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105, or to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.

Well done good and faithful servant!

The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
