Wadesboro - Johnsie Mae Robinson Collins, daughter of the late Elizabeth Robinson Gainey and the late Ingram Liles was born March 19, 1947 in Anson County. She went home to rest on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Madison Grove Baptist Church where she was a loyal servant for many years. She attended West Deep Creek School and graduated from J.R. Faison High School. She was united in holy matrimony to John H. Collins, Sr. in 1967 and to this union one child was born. Left to cherish her loving memories are her loving husband of 51 years, John H. Collins, Sr.; her son, John H. Collins, Jr. (Avelyn) of Morven; her step-mother, Jula Mae Liles of Wadesboro; her sisters (12), Virginia Carelock, Janice Pickett (Robert) both of Lilesville, Carolyn Pickett (Freddie), Brenda Gainey, and Evelyn Gainey (Williams) all of Wadesboro, Vivian Gainey of Thomasville, Annie Lucille Liles, Veta Mae Liles, Janie Louise Liles, Mary Ann Liles all of Wadesboro and Shirley Gainey of Morven ; her brothers (5), Henry T. Gainey of Morven, Ricky L. Gainey (Angeline), Howard Jr. Liles (Connie), Samuel Liles and Anthony Liles all of Wadesboro; her grandchildren (2), Fiona Redferan of Cheraw, SC and Jakeem Redfearn of Morven; her great-grandchildren (6), JaKira, Bryanna, JaRiya, Janiya, JaMari, JaShaun (Landon); a faithful sister-in-law, Nella Ratliff of Wadesboro; her aunt, Laura Robinson of Durham. Johnsie was raised in the home of her grandmother, the late Susie Robinson Little, with her cousins, Lillian Little , Darrell Little and James Autry (Dawanda) both of High Point, Debra Lomax (Gary) of Wadesboro, Teresa Autry of Gastonia and Sylvia Turner (Robert) of Thomasville. In addition to her parents and her grandmother, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ben Robinson, Janet, Elizabeth, Sylvester, Melvin, Eddie and Stevie Gainey. Funeral services will be 4:00pm Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 3:30pm until 4:00pm Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son on Sportsman Road in Morven.
