Greensboro - Mr. Joseph Hess Sims, 58, died suddenly Friday, October 14, 2011 in Cherokee, NC. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday in Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro, NC. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. Joe was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 8, 1953, a son of the late Francis Earl and Margieann Hess Sims. He worked in hotel management. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Terry Currie Sims of the home; a brother, David (Cindy) Sims of Burlington; three sisters, Susan Sims of Greenville, SC, Connie (Harry) Jones and Charlotte (Don) Tilley both of Greensboro; and his mother-in-law, Eva Currie of the home.
