Joyce Carpenter Cherry

WADESBORO – On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Mrs. Joyce Carpenter Cherry, 80, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside.

Joyce was born February 6, 1945, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Horace Gallagher Carpenter and the late Minnie Gladys Gregory Carpenter. She worked for many years in textiles in Anson County and later as a private duty caregiver.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sheila Martin of Wadesboro, Sandy Rummage (Jeff) of Norwood and Sharon Honeycutt (Darrell) of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Adrian Martin (Amy), Justin Martin (Nicole) Gavin Rummage (Amanda), Amanda Rummage (Ryan), Jessy Rummage (Cody), Summer Johnson (Elliott) and Cruz Honeycutt (Madison); 10 great-grandchildren and her niece and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis Carpenter and Charlie Carpenter. 

The family is most grateful to Liberty Home Care and Hospice for the loving way they cared for her. Their guidance and assistance enabled her to be at home and to end life’s journey with dignity.
