LILESVILLE – On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Stroud Jackson, 76, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her bedside.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Kathy was born May 26, 1949, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late James Arter Stroud and the late Clara Lee Helms Stroud.
She worked for a number of years in textiles, having worked at Little Cotton Manufacturing and Wade Manufacturing. She will be most remembered for her time of employment in retail though, with Super Ten and Dollar General Stores in Anson County.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her companion, Leroy Lear of Lilesville; her children, Tim Helms of Lilesville, David Helms (Jessica) of Marshville, Melissa Lucas (Nick) of Lilesville and Melinda Garris (Shaun) of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Jeremy Helms, Jacob Helms, Jason Helms, Jesse Helms, Dawson Helms, James Helms, Kenneth Lucas, Cameron Lucas, Tracey Lucas, Patrick Lucas, Brandon Jackson, Tyler Dial, Katelyn Dial, and Braylon Garris; her great-granddaughter, Myla Locklear; her sister, Brenda Tice (Tommy) of Ramseur and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Mary Ann Burr, Jimmy Stroud and Johnny Stroud.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Anson Community Hospice, a Division of Richmond County Hospice, for the wonderful way in which they cared for her and also to Katherine Moore for all she did to assist with her care.
