Kathy Parks Harris

Rockingham - On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Mrs. Kathy Parks Harris, 70, passed away peacefully at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Church of God of Prophecy on Flowers Street in Rockingham with Rev. Steve Gilmer officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on Old Cheraw Highway in Rockingham.

Kathy was born October 28, 1951 in Richmond County, NC and was a daughter of the late Lonnie Lee Parks and the late Margaret Ann Hill Parks. She was a graduate of Rohanen High School. She had worked as a certified nursing assistant at Richmond Memorial Hospital and later at Richmond Kiddie Kollege Daycare.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, where she had taught children's Sunday school. She always had a love for children, was an active leader in Girls Scouts and so many of "her childrn" lovingly call her "Mama Kathy".  She was also a caregiver for her parents and was devoted to them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Amber Moss and husband, Ben and Doris Caulder and husband, Donnie all of Rockingham; her grandchildren, Maggie Moss, Samuel Moss and Trey Caulder; her brother and sister, Charles Parks and wife, Donna and Carol Sinclair all of Rockingham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Leon Harris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, Hospice Haven, 1119 US 1 HWY, Rockingham, NC 28379.
