Kenneth Craven Williamson

We are sharing the obituary for Mr. Williamson as a courtesy to his wife and her family, the Bowers family who have been longtime residents of the Burnsville Community of Anson County.

Kenneth Craven Williamson, 93, of Wagram, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on his 93rd birthday, July 27, 2025.

Ken was born in Columbus County, North Carolina, to the late Joseph and Gladys Williamson. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in textile chemistry. Over the course of his career, Ken held various positions in textile and plant management and retired from Rite Industries in 1996.

Even after retirement, he continued to work as a consulting chemist for Hornwood,Inc. well into his 80s, a testament to his dedication and passion for his field.

Ken found great joy in gardening and took pride in the beautiful handiwork he and his wife, Molly, cultivated around their home on the Deercroft golf course. He loved sharing photos of their garden with family and friends. A devoted golfer and a lover of animals, Ken was affectionately known in the community as the "treat man" for his constant care and kindness towards dogs.

Ken will always be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who never had an unkind word to say to anyone. His warmth, compassion, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Molly Bowers Williamson, who lovingly cared for him in his later years; his children, Suzanne Lee (Mike), Lynn Noudewo ( Emmanuel), and Mark Williamson (Jennifer); his grandchildren,Noelle Noudewo ( fiancé Nathan) and Jenna Williams (Josh); and his great-grandson Luke Williams.

A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cure JM Foundation for juvenile myositis research at https://www.curejm.org/ on behalf of his great- niece Noelle Whitt.
