Larry Tanner

Morven - James Larry Tanner “aka Bubba T” was born on October 25, 1958 in Wadesboro, N.C. to the late Cassie Mae Montgomery-Tanner and James Edward Tanner. He departed this life on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C. He attended Bowman Senior High School in Wadesboro, N.C. were he was a standout basketball player. He was employed at Select Genetrics, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Bubba T was united in holy matrimony to Frankie Jane Tanner and to this union two children were born; Jarvis Terez Marsh and Sherika Shaye Marsh. Two stepchildren, Angela Little and Haywood Marsh, Jr. Bubba T enjoyed watching sports especially football and basketball. He was a die-hard Cowboys fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cassie Mae Montgomery-Tanner; father, James Edward Tanner; brothers, Edward Tanner and Walter Tanner (JoAnne Tanner); four brother-in-laws; one sister-in- law, Minnie Chambers. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Frankie Jane Tanner; four children; Jarvis Marsh, Sherika Marsh, Angela Little, Haywood Marsh; four sisters; Brenda Diggs, Mary Maske, Juretha Tanner, Shelby Sturdivant; four brothers, Jessie Tanner, Louis Tanner, Roger Tanner, Eddie Tanner; two sister-in-laws, Sarah Melton (Henry Thomas Melton), Edna Grace Chambers (Walter Chambers); aunt; Ardener Montgomery; grandchildren, DyQuan Marsh, Jarvis Marsh, Da’Mariah Hillian, Jer’Quan Smith, Kimyottia Little, Erica Little, Daynasha Marsh, Haylee Marsh; great granddaughter, Elaynah McRae; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Three special friends; Vernon Lindsey, Larry Shumo, and Jarrad Coxe. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the funeral home.
