POLKTON – On Sunday, January 2, 2022, Mrs. Leta Ann Helms Hildreth, 87, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior and many loved ones while a resident at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Sunday, January 9, 2021 at Polkton Baptist Church with Rev. John Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery.
The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church.
Leta Ann was born May 14, 1934 in Union County, NC and was a daughter of the late Odis Hoise Helms and the late Fonnie Ocie Moore Helms. She worked at Ballet Hosiery in Wadesboro and was a member of Polkton Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Annie Rachel Griffin of Wingate, Deborah Goodwin (Russell) and Jimmy Hildreth (Debra Kay) both of Polkton; daughter-in-law Cindy Hildreth of Waxhaw, her grandchildren, Shane Griffin (Jen) of Pageland, SC, Andy Griffin of Wingate, Jonathan (Brittany) Hildreth and Kristen (Brett) Keller both of Waxhaw, Robert Goodwin of Topsail, Carrie James (RJ) of Greensboro, Joe Hildreth of Polkton; 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and her sisters, Margaret Hildreth of Rockingham, Sylvia Jean Farlowe and Linda Sheffield both of Robbins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Hildreth; her son, Johnny Lee Hildreth; her grandsons, Jeffrey Hildreth and Jamie Hildreth and her sister and brother, Ometa Marley and Archie Leon Helms.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Polkton Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wadesboro Rehab for the excellent care and compassion shown to Ms Leta and the family during her stay there.
