Libby Napier Williams

POLKTON – On Friday, April 1, 2022, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Napier Williams, 77, passed away peacefully at her home.

Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery in Polkton.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Libby was born December 26, 1944 in Anson County, NC  and was a daughter of the late Earl Wright Napier and the late Ann Morgan Napier. She was a graduate of Anson High School and Anson Community College, now South Piedmont Community College. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Gardner Webb University in 2000.

She was a life-long member of Polkton Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, gardening and taking care of others, whether it be her family or her co-workers.

Libby was a hard worker and worked for 29 years at Wade Manufacturing in Wadesboro, retiring as Human Resources Director. She built long-lasting friendships with many of her co-workers at Wade.

Of all her accomplishments, however, her greatest was that of being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved time shared with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Williams and wife, Nancy of Wadesboro and Leigh Ann Morris and husband, William of Norwood; her grandchildren, Mike Williams, Hannah Williams, Hunter Williams, Owen Morris and Henry Morris; her brothers, David Napier and wife, Judy and Donnie Napier and wife, Bennie all of Polkton; her sisters-in-law, Mary Lois Hildreth and husband, Richard of Polkton, Rachel Williams of Rockingham, Betty Little and husband, Steve of Wingate and Louise Billingsley of Hamlet and her caregivers, who were more like her family, Sara Little, Debbie Taylor, Ann Powell and Kaitlyn Powell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley “Johnny” Williams and by a very special caregiver, Paula Tyson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williams Cemetery, c/o, Danny Wright, 341 Kiker Rd., Peachland, NC 28133 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1791 E Broad Ave, Rockingham, NC 28379.

The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh,.com

I was truly blessed to have become a part of this wonderful family. Libby was always very good to me and helped me with anything I needed. She will truly be missed by her family, but we are so grateful for the example she set for us, and for the blessing that she was to so many.

My heart hurts, I will miss you everyday for the rest of my life. You were my rock and you gave me everything I ever wanted and taught me how to be a better person. I am thankful that the Lord blessed me and my family with such a wonderful mother and grandmother and we will see you again one day.
