WADESBORO – On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Mrs. Linda Burr Edwards, 81, passed away peacefully at Autumn Care in Marshville surrounded by the love of her family.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Reco Johnson officiating.
Linda was born February 12, 1945, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Roy James Burr and the late Jessie Mae Hooks Burr. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and retired from the City of Concord, having worked there as a secretary.
She enjoyed doing ceramics, shopping, trips to the beach, listening to music, especially Elvis and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark Holloway (Tracy) of McFarlan and Rhonda Holloway of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Whitney Holloway of Rockingham, Kendall Holloway (Haley) of Cheraw, SC and Noah Holloway and Chloe Holloway both of McFarlan; her sister, Louise Stiles of High Point; her sister-in-law, Becky Burr of Wadesboro; and her nieces and nephew, Rita Strickland of Durham, Sharon Stiles of Archdale and Benny Burr of Wadesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ben Burr.
Linda’s family is most grateful to Amanda Leake and the staff of Autumn Care of Marshville for the care they gave her and to her private duty caregivers, Erica Smith and Shavonne Wall, for the love they expressed through their care.
