OBITUARY MRS. LINDA RICE NIXON ALBEMARLE, NC Albemarle - Mrs. Linda Rice Nixon, 62, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 4:00PM Saturday in the Silver Road Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service. Mrs. Nixon was born in Mecklenburg County on January 3, 1949, a son of the late Mack Henry and Sarah Ann Mason Rice. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a sitter for home health. Survivors include her husband, Neal Nixon of Albemarle; two brothers, Olen (Sarah) Rice of Sylva, NC, James Rice of Edgefield, SC; and a sister, Margaret 'Martie' (Gene) Hipple of Marshville, NC. One brother, Thomas W. Rice Sr., preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 147 MacArthur St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
