POLKTON - Mrs. Linda Hill Tucker, 68, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. Services will be 4:00pm Wednesday, March 7, 2012 by the graveside in Williams Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 6:00pm until8:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro and other times at the home. Linda was born July 14, 1943 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late James Pleasant and Irma Tucker Hill. She worked for many years with the Anson County Schools, working at Peachland Polkton Elementary School before her retirement and was also retired from Wal Mart in Wadesboro. She had served as little league baseball coach and as a member of the Polkton Town Council. She enjoyed many types of crafts and scrapbooking. She was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Tucker and Chris and Kristie Tucker both of Polkton and Mike Hill of Norwood; her grandchildren, Callie and Nathan Tucker of Polkton; and her sister, Betty Barkley of Denver, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wilson 'Shorty' Hill. Linda will always be remembered as the best mother in the world, a devoted grandmother and cherished friend to many. Her bright eyes, warm smile and gentle hugs touched many lives. Memorials may be made to Peachland Polkton Elementary School, Student School Supply Fund, 9633 US Highway 74 W, Peachland, NC 28133. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
