Lois Stubbs Smith

              LILESVILLE – On Saturday, March 26, 2022, Mrs. Lois Stubbs Smith, 84, passed away peacefully at her home.

            Services will be 11:00am Saturday, April 9, 2022, by the graveside in Sandy Plains United Methodist Church in Morven, where she will be laid to rest by her parents.

            The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

            Lois was born February 14, 1938, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Charlie Stubbs and the late Waco Stroud Stubbs Pegram.

            Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mitzi Goodwin (Joe) of Lilesville, Jimmy Downer of Rockingham, Mark Downer of Cason’s Old Field Community, Tanda Eppolito of Lilesville and Baine Downer of Laurel Hill; her grandchildren, Stephanie Rorie, Joseph Goodwin, Amanda Mauldin, Jamie Downer, Vinny Eppolito, Travis Cowick and Brittany Baker; and her 12 great-grandchildren.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Toni Eppolito; her great-grandchildren, Nick and Carrie Downer and her sister, Myra Horne.

            In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1791 E. Broad Ave., Rockingham, NC 28379.
