STANFIELD – On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Mrs. Louise Hatley Furr, 90, passed away peacefully at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe with her granddaughters holding her hands.
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026, at Loves Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
Louise was born December 14, 1935, in Cabarrus County, NC and was a daughter of the late Lawton Henry Hatley and the late Fronia McLester Hatley. She had worked with Allison Manufacturing in Stanfield for many years.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her granddaughters and their husbands, Caroline and Johnny Thomas of Peachland and Abby Ferrell and Taylor Wilt of Greenville; her great-grandson, Grant Thomas of Peachland; her sisters, Margaret Ann Rhinehart of Concord and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Furr, by her son and daughter, Eddie Furr and Jo Ann Ferrell and by her sisters and brothers, Mary Jewel Yow, Carnell Hatley, Lawton Hatley, Jr., and Alene Cruse.
The family is most grateful to the staff at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe for the beautiful way in which they cared for her during her final days.
Louise will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the simple things in life and was most content when spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
